Different types of sentences
Declarative sentences
A declarative sentence is a statement and is punctuated with a period.
Ex. My cat is beautiful.
Ex. Penonome is in Panama.
Ex. Trees are tall and they provide us
with oxygen.
Ex. The dog's name is Duke.

Interrogative sentences
An interrogative sentence is a question and is punctuated with a question mark.
Ex. Do you think my cat is beautiful?
Ex. Is Penonome in Panama?
Ex. What are trees?
Ex. What is the dog's name?
Ex. How old are you?
Ex. Do you think my cat is beautiful?

Imperative sentences
An imperative sentence is a command (mandato) and is punctuated with a period at the end. I use these ALL THE TIME in class.
Ex. Everyone sit down.
Ex. Justin, be quiet.
Ex. Laura, pay attention.

Exclamatory sentences
An exclamatory sentence shows strong feeling and ends with an exclamation point --> !
Ex. Cynthia, be quiet!
Ex. I´m so excited to go to Disney land!
Ex. I love my mom!
Ex. My little brother is so cute I can
hardly stand it!
